    BOKER'S ENHANCES METAL STAMPING CAPABILITIES WITH NEW STAMPING PRESS FOR PROGRESSIVE TOOLING

    As part of their ongoing commitment to producing the highest quality metal stampings, Boker's has added a new 150-ton press that enhances the company's extensive stamping capabilities. The press performs progressive tooling, which accomplishes multiple operations—such as blanking and piercing—at once to decrease secondary operations and reduce lead times.

    The stamping press also offers increased capacity for long production runs. With a 12-inch feeder and a capability of 200 strokes per minute, the press easily handles complex, high volume stamping orders.

  • CLEVELAND, OH—February 12, 2010—According to the February 2010 Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) Business Conditions Report, metalforming companies expect conditions to remain fairly steady over the next three months. Conducted monthly, the report is an economic indicator for manufacturing, sampling 124 metalforming companies in the United States and Canada.

    The February report shows that 45% of participants expect an improvement in economic activity during the next three months (the same percentage reported in January), 49% predict that activity will remain unchanged (up from 45% last month) and only 6% report that activity will decline (down from 10% in January).
